This kit is the HG Mailes Reiki Kai, released as number 13 in the Kyoukai Senki series. Following the HG Mailes Kenbu Zan and Jogan Kai, we now have a modified version of the Reiki as well. The design has been changed in several areas including the head, thighs, lower body, forearms, and weapons.

First off, thanks to the enlarged rear skirt and slightly beefed-up limbs, it's got a bit more volume compared to the original Reiki. Deploy the rear wing unit and you get a massive wingspan of up to 40cm. Even though the appearance has changed quite a bit, the underlying structure is the same as previous kits, so it still delivers flexible articulation and solid joint strength. On top of that, a variety of deployment and movement gimmicks have been added — including the multi-tube small missile launchers on the shoulders, knees, and back, as well as the rear wing unit — making for much more dynamic posing options. The original Cho-Netsu Jinshiki Haito has also evolved into the more imposing Cho-Netsu Jinshiki Haito Kai.

Much like the Mailes Kenbu Zan and Jogan Kai, this is a kit with an overall bulked-up silhouette and a variety of added gimmicks. With this release, all the Part 2 Mailes units are now out, and every one of them delivers solid build quality and an upgraded feature set. Either way, if you're a Kyoukai Senki fan, you can go ahead and collect all three without any hesitation. :-)
