Kit Review

Following Grendizer, Mazinkaiser has now been released under the Infinitism title as well. The concept carries over from the previous entries, with the same fragmented armor design, and the frame runners are reused in a combination of gold and dark gray. The thighs and some other parts are also reused from the Great Mazinger Infinitism version.
It's a variation kit with some reused parts, but the overall look is mostly new design. In particular, the massive Kaiser Scrander wings — fitting for Mazinkaiser — give it the biggest, most imposing silhouette in the series. The Kaiser Pilder on the head comes in two separate versions (docked and flight type), and the kit includes one Final Kaiser Blade and two Kaiser Blades as weapons. Effect parts and a stand for recreating the Turbo Smasher Punch, just like Mazinger Z, are also included.
Since the underlying frame is the same, the articulation characteristics are pretty much identical to the previous kits. The Fire Blaster on the chest does get in the way a bit, limiting forward shoulder movement somewhat. Overall articulation and joint strength are solid enough, but the backpack is on the heavier side, so you'll want to pay a little extra attention to balancing it when standing it upright.
At the end of the day, it's the same basic build with a different design, so if you've already put together the Mazinger Z or Great Mazinger Infinitism versions, the assembly process might feel a bit familiar. That said, the quality is hard to fault, and if you're a fan of Mazinkaiser or just love this style of mecha, this should be a fun kit to build. :-)
