Getter Dragon Infinitism

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

Following Mazinger and Grendizer, Getter Dragon has now been released under the HG Infinitism title. Without a single exterior sticker, the vibrant color combination is pulled off cleanly through color separation alone. The basic framework is the same as the previous releases, but it shows off a much brighter and more vivid color palette compared to the rather dull predecessors.

The articulation and joint strength are on par with the previous kits, but since this one is a bit larger, the hip and ankle joints feel slightly lacking in strength. That said, the satisfaction you get from the stunning visuals more than makes up for it. The Double Tomahawk is included as the weapon, and you can extend it into the Long Tomahawk. The Mach Wings on the back can be displayed in either a long or short form, and the same stand as the previous releases is included, so you can easily set up aerial and flight poses.

On top of that, a silver foil sticker on the inside of the chest's V-shape adds a subtle reflective shimmer, and the shoulder armor connected to the cape is designed to swing upward so it doesn't get in the way of articulation — a nice touch. Either way, the straight build visual impact is arguably the best in the series, and despite the somewhat weak joints, this is a kit I'd happily recommend. :-)
