Following Mazinger Z and Mazinkaiser, Mazinger Zero has now been released under the Infinitism title as well. It's essentially the final boss of the Mazinger universe, and its defining feature is that massive Zero Scrander on its back. The overall build and look came out pretty similar to the previous entries.
First off, the basic frame and some of the outer armor are reused from the existing Mazinger Z Infinitism version— but most of the armor parts are newly sculpted, and with the frame scaled up, it's noticeably bulkier than Mazinger Z. Because of that, the existing Mazinger Z frame shows a bit of questionable durability here. It's not loose to the point of being a problem, but you do need to pay a bit more attention to joint positioning when posing or standing it upright.
Accessories include effect parts for the Rocket Punch and three types of hands, plus a stand with two different-height pillars is included. It's all set up to recreate the riding-on-the-Zero-Scrander look, and you can pull off a reasonably stable riding pose. Beyond that, the articulation is pretty much identical to the previous kits, so you can get a good variety of distinctive poses without much trouble.
That said, since they essentially just scaled up the existing Mazinger Z frame, there's a slight disappointment on the durability front. But overall, this is a kit with real presence — thanks to its large size and imposing style (especially the face). Either way, if you enjoyed Shin Mazinger Zero, this is definitely a kit worth picking up. :-)
