This kit is the Black Bird Set, released as No. 12 in the Mecha Collection Yamato 2202 series. It's based on the previously released Mecha Collection Cosmo Zerofrom the Yamato 2199 series, with the molded colors changed and two units bundled together. New sculpts have been added in the form of upper armor and a missile pod.

The basic features are the same as the existing Mecha Collection Cosmo Zero, with various missiles and landing gear provided as swappable parts — and now with the upper missile pod newly added on top of that, the accessories are even more generous. True to the Black Bird name, the overall molded color has been changed to black, though one of the two lets you recreate a blue nose section. Also worth noting, a generic stand is included instead of the dedicated stand that came with the original Cosmo Zero.
