Kamen Rider Double : Lunatrigger

Kit Review

Straight build

Just as expected after Cyclone Joker's release, Kamen Rider Double kits are rolling out one after another as color variants. The second one is Lunatrigger with its yellow-and-blue color combo, and naturally the basic framework is 100% identical to Cyclone Joker. The only differences, true to the character, are the chest and the wrist/ankle band sections.

Lunatrigger comes with a variety of weapon accessories not included with Cyclone Joker — the Trigger Magnum, Bat Shot, and Spider Shock. Multiple swap-out parts are provided so you can recreate both the Gadget Mode and Live Mode just like in the show, and combining them with the Trigger Magnum is also possible.

Compared to Cyclone Joker who was basically posing empty-handed, the ability to pull off a wider range of action shots is definitely Lunatrigger's strong point. That said, since this is closer to a character figure than a mecha, how much you're into the characters themselves seems to be the key factor in whether you'll enjoy it or not. It's pretty obvious the rest of the Kamen Riders will get released too, and honestly it's hard to argue against just how efficient these color variants are. MG Figure-rise almost feels like it was developed specifically for stuff like this.

It's a straightforward color variant so there's not a whole lot to dig into, but if you're a fan of Kamen Rider Double, I think there's plenty of fun to be had collecting them by character. :-)
