Kamen Rider Accel, one of the most anticipated releases in the ongoing MG Figure-rise Kamen Rider Double series, is finally out. Accel has a simple transformation feature that no other Kamen Rider has — it's a unique one that can transform into a bike using the wheels on its back and legs.

First off, Accel's body design is completely different from the existing Cyclone Joker, Luna Trigger, and the rest, so it's made up of almost entirely new parts from head to toe. It's a genuinely new product rather than just a variation for the first time in a while, and with the bike transformation feature on top of that, it's turned into quite a unique and fresh kit. That said, the basic internal skeleton structure and articulation system are the same as other Kamen Riders, so the articulation and joint characteristics are identical.

The bike transformation feature — the one everyone's most curious about — is fairly well executed. Even though the structure looks like it might not hold together at first glance, it somehow stays in shape without falling apart. The front wheel mounting section looked a bit iffy... but once you carefully engage all the locking gimmicks, it holds its shape more solidly than it looks. A separate clear stand is included for bike mode, though it does tend to tip to one side, so you'll need to balance it carefully.

Accel's humanoid design is unique and cool in its own right, but the real tokusatsu flair really shines through in that distinctive bike form. I know there were quite a few people who said they'd skip the other similar Kamen Riders but would definitely pick up Accel when it came out — and I think the quality more than delivers on that.
