This kit is the latest MG Figurerise 6 release — Barnaby Brooks Jr. in his movie version. I thought there was nothing left to come out of the Tiger & Bunny lineup, but here we are with a movie version. ^^;

At first glance it doesn't look all that different from the original version, but as you can see in the comparison shots above, the details are completely different when you put them side by side. So when I first saw the release announcement I figured it'd be a color variant, but it turns out every single runner is a new mold — it's a completely new product.

The issue is that while the movie version does have more complex details, the color scheme and design concept are pretty much the same as the original, so it doesn't feel all that fresh. -.- It's clearly a different design, but there's no sense of novelty whatsoever — it almost feels like you're building the same kit twice. ;

That said, thanks to the fine parts breakdown and the generous amount of stickers, even a straight build reproduces most of the intended colors quite well, so it's still a fun kit to put together. The articulation, joint strength, and posability are all still excellent. It may not feel particularly fresh, but it's still meaningful that the movie version of the character got a solid plastic model release. :-)
