Kit Review
Straight build + Stickers
Strictly speaking, the eyes should be yellow and the body and cast should be black to properly represent Dark Kabuto,
but the stickers alone do give it a decent look.

Masked Rider has now joined the Figure-rise 6 lineup, which was previously exclusive to Tiger & Bunny. The first entry is Masked Rider Kabuto from the 2006 Masked Rider series, and it seems like they're planning to release Masked Rider characters that haven't gotten the MG Figure-rise treatment this way going forward.
It's definitely on the smaller, more compact side compared to the big and beefy MG Figure-rise Masked Riders, but thanks to the excellent joint construction and light weight, posing is sooooo much easier. There aren't really any parts that don't hold their position well, and the smooth-moving joints make this feel like a proper action figure kit. The one thing to watch out for is that the hands holding the weapons can be a bit loose, so you'll need to pay a little extra attention there.
Beyond the advantages of being light and having solid joints, the color accuracy is surprisingly well done for its small size — nothing to be ashamed of at all. The color separation is pretty decent, and with a good number of stickers, even a straight build gives you quite a realistic look.
The accessory lineup is solid too — the Kabuto Kunai Gun/Cutter/Axe and Zect Mizer weapons are all well represented, and the Kabuto Zecter that attaches to the front of the waist comes in all three versions: open, closed, and flight form. The additional armor pieces for the head, chest, shoulders, and arms to recreate Masked Form are all included as well. The fit on the extra armor is generally fine, but the forearm section tends to be a bit iffy and falls off easily, so be careful when attaching it.
There are also extra stickers included so you can recreate Dark Kabuto — while there's not much you can do about the cast and eye colors, the fact that they even threw in Dark Kabuto's markings is definitely worth a thumbs up. ^^ On top of that, some really cool effect parts and a clear multi-purpose stand are included, letting you pull off a perfect Rider Kick pose.
Overall, this kit comes with the quality and content that any Masked Rider fan — and Kabuto fans in particular — should be more than happy with. Even if you're not that into Masked Rider, this seems like a high-quality action figure kit that's fun to build and play around with. :-)
