The sole is also sculpted to look and feel like rubber even though it's not a soft material, and the laces are beautifully shaped to look just like real ones. At around 12cm it's a nice, comfortable size — not too big, not too small — and I'd say the scale is somewhere between 1/2 and 1/3.

Once you finish building it, you'll be surprised by how surprisingly hefty it feels — it doesn't have that light, hollow plastic feel at all, which makes it even better. Since there are no moving parts or gimmicks in this kit, for this review you really just need to sit back and appreciate the looks and the texture.

As a plastic model with such a fresh and unique concept, this could be just the cure for anyone suffering from Gunpla fatigue. Personally, as someone from an older generation who has fond memories of Air Jordans, it's genuinely moving to see something like this get the high-quality plastic model treatment. The one thing that stings a little is the price — looking at the runners, it feels more like a ¥3,000–4,000 kit, yet it's priced at a whopping ¥10,000. That's probably down to licensing, small production runs, and the brand premium. Still, if you're after something truly unique or you've got a soft spot for Air Jordans, this is a fun kit I'd highly recommend. :-)
