Vigna-Ghina II

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining + Stickers

This kit is the Vigna-Ghina II released as part of the RE/100 series. It's a pretty obscure unit — the kind of thing you'd expect to show up as a Club G exclusive — but it got an unexpected general release. It is a variation kit, though more than half the parts are newly tooled.

With a good chunk of the armor, backpack, and weapons changed up, and the molded colors shifting dramatically, the overall look feels quite fresh. The core frame stays the same, so the articulation, beam saber storage, hands, and stand joint parts are all identical to the RE/100 Vigna-Ghina. The biggest changes are the fin nozzles on the back being replaced with flexible wing nozzles, and the addition of massive shoulder fins on the shoulders. The head design and the body & leg armor details have also changed quite a bit visually.

Just like the Vigna-Ghina, it still delivers solid articulation and joint strength, and the newly added short lancer has a lance section that moves back and forth. The flexible wing nozzles open up at the middle section with the lower nozzles articulating as well, and the three nozzles on the back of the legs each move independently too. And since it reuses a good number of runners from the original Vigna-Ghina, you do end up with a fair amount of leftover parts.

It's a kit with a fresh design and a bold, powerful red look — and while it's not the most well-known unit out there, the visuals and overall quality are great, so if it suits your taste, I'd say it's definitely worth recommending. :-)
