Straight build + Panel lining + Seals
The Tie Interceptor — an upgraded version of the TIE Fighter — has also been released as part of Bandai's Star Wars model kit lineup. The wings have changed from the wide flyswatter (..) shape to something smaller but more aggressive-looking. The core design is mostly the same as the original TIE Fighter, with some subtle differences, so only the internal block parts are reused while the exterior features all-new molding.
The kit's contents are identical to the 1/72 TIE Fighter — the canopy comes in both standard plastic and clear versions, and laser effect parts are included as well. The seals and internal cockpit layout are pretty much the same too, so it really feels like you're just building a TIE Fighter with different wings.
That said, it has a noticeably sleeker and more aggressive look, so it definitely stands apart from the original TIE Fighter. If you're collecting Imperial fighters, this is one you won't want to miss. :-)
