Star Wars 1/48

& 1/144 Snowspeeder

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining

This kit is a Snowspeeder set combining the previously released 1/48 Snowspeeder and the 1/144 Vehicle Model Snowspeeder. It reuses the existing runners as-is, so there's nothing structurally new whatsoever. The only difference is that the seals have been swapped to orange colors representing the Battle of Hoth, where the Snowspeeders went up against the AT-AT.

The 1/48 Snowspeeder shares the same molded color as the previously released version, while the 1/144 is actually slightly darker than the Vehicle Model — though honestly, aside from the seals changing from gray to orange, this is a pretty lazy rehash of a kit.

The 1/48 Snowspeeder comes with a variety of accessories just like before — an open-style clear canopy, laser effect parts, four openable airbrake parts, a harpoon, and more, letting you recreate all sorts of scenes from the film. The 1/144 Snowspeeder doesn't have any special options, but it still has that neat, compact look to it.

This is really only worth recommending to those who haven't built the original 1/48 Snowspeeder — honestly, it's the kind of kit that makes you wonder why it even exists. :-)
