Captain Phasma from Star Wars Episode 7 - The Force Awakens has been made into a 1/12 scale plastic model kit. The body design is basically almost identical to the First Order Stormtrooper, but the overall proportions have been stretched out to be more slender. The front of the armor is coated with a silver plating, and with the cape draped around her, she really pulls off that high-class commander look.
As those who've seen the film will know, Captain Phasma is a female commander, played by Gwendoline Christie who stands over 190cm tall — so just looking at the sheer size of her, she can come across as male. The body itself doesn't give off any feminine character vibes at all either, with a flat chest plate and a pretty nondescript figure. That said, perhaps because of her height, she does come out noticeably larger than the 1/12 First Order Stormtrooper modeled after Finn, played by John Boyega.
Being a plated kit, it runs about 1,000 yen more than your typical 1/12 character kit, but the coating quality is clean and crisp with a nice shiny gleam to it. As for the cape, you get two versions — one in plastic and one in non-woven fabric. The non-woven fabric cape can be folded and spread freely, though it does look a bit cheaper compared to the plastic one. That said, the plastic cape's left side is also detached and articulated, so it doesn't really get in the way of the body's articulation too much.
The rest of the structural features and articulation are pretty much the same as the existing First Order Stormtrooper, and for weapons you only get one dedicated blaster. Either way, it captures the feel of the original really well visually, and since it's a plated kit the straight build quality is excellent — so this is one I'd especially recommend to those of you who prefer to skip painting. :-)
