Kit Review

This kit is Grogu from the Disney+ series "The Mandalorian." Just like the previously released Yoda, it comes with two scales — 1/4 and 1/12 — bundled together. In the lore, Grogu is depicted as a young child of Yoda's species, but due to the species' slow aging, he's actually around 50 years old. (He's still babbling away in the show, though.)
The main 1/4 scale figure pulls off a pretty convincing look with a surprisingly small number of parts. In the show, Grogu expresses his emotions through his ears, and sure enough, you can mix and match two different ear shapes on each side for various combinations. There are also four swappable face parts with different expressions — one of which has him holding a frog in his mouth, which is a little gross (;;). Articulation is pretty basic, limited to neck and shoulder rotation, but with all the different expression parts, you can still recreate a good variety of scenes.
The 1/12 scale also includes the Hovering Pram that Grogu rides around in throughout the show, and you can display it in a hovering state using the clear stand. The Hovering Pram can be closed with its cover as well, and since the 1/12 Grogu also has rotating neck and shoulders, you can do a bit of posing even while he's seated inside.
All in all, this kit is a nice little package that faithfully recreates Grogu from the show in two different scales. The look might be a bit of an acquired taste compared to Yoda — some people might find it a little off-putting — so it could go either way depending on your preferences. That said, if you've watched the show and fallen for Grogu's adorableness, this is a clean and fun character figure model kit that's well worth picking up. :-)
