Kit Review
Straight build + Seals
Interestingly, K-2SO comes with a support post that can hold the waist in place.
It's not really needed for a simple standing pose, but it does come in handy when posing in action stances.

K-2SO, the scene-stealing droid from Star Wars: Rogue One, has been released as a 1/12 scale plastic model. Unlike the typical obedient droids, he's got quite the attitude (?) and played a surprisingly significant role in the film — and this kit really does feel like a near-perfect three-dimensional recreation of his on-screen appearance.
First off, the long, slender proportions capture the feel of the original character really well, and the surface finish has a slightly matte quality that gives it a calm, premium look. The transparent inner structure at the elbow and knee joints is realistically rendered using clear parts, and the range of motion and poses for the head, arms, and legs show an impressive level of accuracy that makes it feel like he just stepped right out of the film.
Given the nature of the character, there are no separate weapons or accessories — but in their place, a support post for assisted posing is included. You won't need it for a straight standing pose, but it's pretty much essential once you start getting into dynamic stances.
As mentioned, even without any special pose, the standing figure alone has such a high level of accuracy to the source material that it really deserves high marks — and personally, I'd recommend this kit even more strongly than the previous Deathtrooper or Shoretrooper releases. It's a highly polished Star Wars model kit. :-)
