The Tie Striker from Star Wars: Rogue One has been released as a 1/72 scale plastic model. As you can see from all the comparison photos above, this craft is bigger than expected. The solar panels are especially long and large, so much so that you actually have to flip the stand post around to the rear just to handle the center of gravity.
The basic kit composition isn't all that different from existing TIE Fighter types — the cockpit layout is similar, and it's the same deal with the canopy and cover parts being provided in both plastic and clear versions. Just looking at the build process, it honestly feels like you're just building a TIE Fighter that's been stretched out lengthwise.
The large solar panels move up and down across quite a wide angle, and thankfully the joints are fairly solid so there's no drooping issue. The laser effect parts can be plugged into three spots in total — the front tips of the solar panels, and optionally onto either of the two weapons on the underside of the craft.
That said, since the kit is big and hefty, tilting the stand joint to get various angles is a bit of a stretch — pulling off a sideways banking pose is pretty much out of the question, and about all you can manage is angling the nose up or down.
Either way, this is the biggest and most imposing-looking kit in the TIE series, so if the Tie Striker left an impression on you in the film, this should be a fun build. :-)
