Vifam HG

Vifam with Sling Pannier

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HG-grade Vifam with Sling Pannier. Just like the previously released HG L-Gaim Mk-II and HG Dougram-1 Plus Lifter-1,it's a kit that brings an older mech up to modern quality standards. Again, just one representative unit was released as an online-exclusive HG (regular release overseas), while the older Vifam kits were reissued separately as two set kits.

The overall quality is on par with the HG Dougram, and you get excellent color separation and a smooth, satisfying build. Articulation and joint strength are both great, so it's a clean, well-executed kit. That said, it's even smaller than the already-tiny HG Dougram — noticeably smaller than your average HG Gunpla. The quality is solid, but given the ¥3,800 price tag — small MG territory — the size does leave you wanting a little more.

Armaments include a beam gun and shield, and you can also swap out the Sling Pannier for the standard backpack. There's even a small escape pod that can be stored inside and detached, plus a gimmick where the cockpit hatch opens up and down. The number seals for the abdomen are also a nice touch — thick, premium PET stickers.

All in all, this is a top-tier HG kit with impeccably clean quality. Along with the Dougram, it's sure to hit old fans right in the nostalgia for Vifam model kits. And even if you've never heard of Vifam, it's a small, clean, high-quality HG mech kit that I'd recommend to any plastic model fan. :-)
