The three ships included in this Space Battleship Set No. 1 are the 205m Kirishima, the 152m Murasame, and the 80m Yukikaze. As you can see, they're rendered with a really colorful color separation scheme, though the color combo does give them a slightly toy-like feel. That said, the build feel is really crisp and satisfying — a nice change of pace from Gundam.

On the Kirishima, the 4 gun barrels rotate and you can recreate the scene of a Type-100 Space Recon Fighter being stored in and launched from the hangar. The Murasame and Yukikaze, however, probably due to their smaller size, have no special features to speak of. They're really just kits you build and put on display as-is. On top of that, just like the 1/1000 Yamato, a bonus old-kit Triple-Deck Carrier is included, molded in a light purple color.

All in all, it's a solid battleship kit with decent detail and some pretty fresh color separation, and it should make for a fun item for Yamato fans. That said, given that Yamato tends to have a lot of old-school fans, I can't help but think ships like the classic Andromeda would be even more welcome than 2199 versions if they came out at this quality level.. Either way, I hope we keep seeing more unique items like this. :-)
