This kit is the 1/1000 Aldebaran Movie Effect Ver. from the Yamato warship series, and it's a color variant of the previously released 1/1000 Andromeda Movie Effect Version. There are absolutely no newly added or changed parts — only the molded color has been changed to blue, though a few wet decals have been added to help match the color scheme.

Since the contents are 100% identical to the Andromeda, there's nothing structurally new to look at, and because it uses the same effect module, the diffusion wave cannon firing scene and engine startup scene reproductions are exactly the same as before.

Since the Aldebaran is a sister ship of the Andromeda in the lore, this is essentially a kit where you just enjoy the different color scheme. The colors look pretty nice, so depending on your taste it might actually look cooler than the Andromeda. That said, with the high-quality effect module driving the price up to ¥12000, it's hard to recommend without hesitation unless you're a die-hard Yamato fan. :-)
