Yamato 1/1000

Apollo Norm

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the 1/1000 Andromeda and Aldebaran, the Apollo Norm has now been released. The body and molded colors are completely identical to the Aldebaran, with the only change being the bridge section, which has been redesigned into a large deck-style form. With the bridge section being much larger, the overall volume feels even more substantial.

Since the only structural change is the bridge, all the other details and gimmicks remain the same as before. One notable difference from the 1/1000 Andromeda/Aldebaran is that this kit ships without an LED unit included. That does bring the price down to ¥6,500 — roughly half the price of the Movie Effect versions — though you can still add the separately sold LED unit if you want.

One more small addition: two Cosmo Falcons have been included alongside the existing Cosmo Tiger IIs. For this review, the main thing to check out is the redesigned bridge. Either way, it's a bigger and more imposing design than its sister ships, and the build quality is clean and solid — so if you're a fan of space battleship kits, this looks like a fun one to put together. :-)
