This kit is the 1/1000 DAOE-01 Asuka from Yamato 2205 — a warship based on the previously released 1/1000 Dreadnought, but with the rear section redesigned into a flight deck configuration. To be more precise, everything from the rear of the bridge backward is a completely different design from the Dreadnought, while the front section parts are reused from the Dreadnought. That said, the wave motion resonance conduit at the front does get a cover that wasn't on the Dreadnought.

Since this kit has no moving parts aside from the main guns, it feels more like a static display piece where you really want to focus on the detail and proportions. That said, it's a space battleship kit that boasts a smooth, satisfying build experience and clean overall quality. There's something about a carrier-style flight deck that really speaks to a lot of guys' sense of romance, and this design definitely hits that spot.

In the original kit, the Dreadnought, three LED units allowed you to light up the bridge, the wave motion gun, and the rear thruster section. On the DAOE-01 Asuka, however, a cover has been added to the front section and the rear verniers have been changed, so only the bridge can be lit up. As a result, only one blue LED unit for the bridge is included.

All in all, this is a clean and impressive space battleship kit that really delivers on quality, and if you're a fan of Yamato or warship model kits in general, this looks like one you'll have a great time with. :-)
