Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining
The Rick-Dias, one of the main mobile suits from Zeta Gundam, has finally gotten the HGUC treatment. The reason I say "finally" is that despite being a fairly prominent suit, this is the first time it's been kitted up in a genuinely good quality release.
The suit's stocky, wide-shouldered build is faithfully reproduced, and the mono-eye in particular is done as a separate soft green part, giving it much better depth than a sticker would. The molded colors are nearly a perfect match to the design specs, though the original color scheme is a bit drab, so that's just how it is. Also, interestingly enough, even at 1/144 scale, the cockpit in the head actually opens up. (Bonus~!)
Maybe it's because of the chunky design, but the articulation is a bit lacking. The leg range of motion is especially limited, so don't expect much in the way of dynamic poses. The hands do have a neat little bonus where the index finger is articulated, but oddly enough it doesn't really help much when it comes to actually holding the included weapons. Holding the bazooka looks a bit awkward because of the rear magazine, and gripping the two beam pistols mounted on the back feels a little clumsy too. The weapons loadout itself is pretty solid, but there's a lot left to be desired overall.
Overall quality is decent enough... This kit's real value lies in the fact that the Rick-Dias is reproduced fairly faithfully.
