HGUC RX-0

Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] : ANA Color ver.

Kit Review

As part of the Gundam 30th Anniversary project between ANA (All Nippon Airways) and Bandai — the ANA Sky Project — the HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] : ANA Color ver. was released as an in-flight limited edition. It shares the same concept as the first release, the HG 30th Anniversary First, featuring a premium white coating using the Titanium Finish process combined with ANA's signature blue coloring.

The coating quality of the Titanium Finish is as impressive as ever, and the inner frame has been molded in a bright clear blue to match the ANA blue color scheme. The blue plated parts on the backpack and foot soles also have the same feel as the previous ANA color version, and it looks really great displayed alongside the HG 30th Anniversary First.

As with most plated kits, the added coating layer makes the joints stiffer. This kit is no exception — in fact it feels a bit stiffer than the standard Titanium Finish release. The tightness is a little excessive though... it's almost a burden to pose. ^^; That said, it's still way better than having loose joints.

Personally, I think the ANA color plated kits have a really cool and stylish look. They're almost too good to be limited editions only... Either way, if you get the chance, the ANA color versions are high-quality limited editions I'd definitely recommend. :-)
