HGUC RX-0

Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] - Green Frame

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the Green Frame version of the HGUC Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode, released as a 2013 Gunpla Expo exclusive. As you can see in the photos, the red psycho-frame has been replaced with green clear parts, the white armor is molded in gloss injection for a more lustrous finish, and the joints and weapons have been changed to a dark metallic molded color — making this a color variant limited release.

With the green frame combined with the contrast between the gloss injection and metallic joints, the overall result is a kit that feels sharper and more vivid compared to the original — kind of like an HD upgrade. It doesn't show up that well in photos due to the lighting, but when you compare it side by side with the original in person, it definitely has that premium limited-edition look to it. ^^

Also, as tends to be the case with gloss injection and metallic molding, the tolerances tighten up a bit, so the joints are stiffer overall compared to the normal HGUC. That said, it actually works in its favor — the joint strength is better, making it nicer to handle.

Aside from the color variant, there's nothing else particularly special about it — it's a pretty straightforward color variation. But it looks good enough that it more than holds its own as a simple limited release. :-)
