Qubeley Mk-II

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining + Decals

Following the white Qubeley that appeared in Z Gundam, the blue Qubeley Mk-II from ZZ Gundam has also gotten the HGUC treatment. Since the original design has the Mk. I and Mk-II differing only in color, this Qubeley Mk-II is a color variant with absolutely no structural changes compared to the previous white Qubeley Mk. I — just molded in a different color. Well, that's how the original design goes, so what can you do ^^; (Only the variant collectors are happy about this one...) That said, the blue molded color has a relatively premium feel to it, which is nice.

One bonus is that dry-transfer decals for the Neo Zeon markings on the shoulders are included. However, in my case, the dry transfers had somehow stuck to the backing paper and were completely unusable (-.-;). I've used plenty of MG dry transfers before, but I've never seen this happen. So I had no choice but to skip the included dry transfers and pick out the Neo Zeon markings from leftover MG dry transfer sheets instead. That's why the back sections — which should have yellow decals front and back — ended up with white decals. T_T

Anyway, since it's fundamentally just a color variant with a different molded color, all the characteristics — articulation, structure, everything — are identical to the original Qubeley. And while it's different from the white Qubeley, the blue Qubeley has its own kind of charisma that works pretty well. ^^
