Straight build

The Gundam X Divider has been released as a variation of the HG Gundam X.
It's the kind of kit you pretty much knew was coming, so there's no huge surprise, but just like the HG Gundam X it comes out with a really clean level of quality.

The only differences from the previous Gundam X are the backpack and weapons — the body itself is 100% identical. Sure, some of the molded colors have changed slightly, but unless you put the two side by side you'd barely notice. The Divider version drops the solar panel-style wings from the standard version and instead gets an X-shaped backpack, with the Divider armament added in place of the Satellite Cannon.

The Divider, which serves both offensive and defensive roles, isn't a hinged open/close design but the detachable deployment is well reproduced, and details like the beam saber storage and beam parts are faithfully included. Since the base HG Gundam X that came before it already had pretty solid quality, this kit is likewise nearly flawless in terms of build quality. And just like that kit, the action poses somehow manage to feel surprisingly dynamic despite the fairly average articulation.

It's a pretty straightforward color variant, but if you're a fan of the design — or just want something fun to build — I think this is a clean, enjoyable kit that'll leave you more than satisfied. :-)
