Geara Zulu [Guards Type]

Kit Review

Straight build
+ panel lining + stickers

The third variation of the Geara Zulu, the Geara Zulu [Guards Type], has been released. Compared to the original normal Geara Zulu, the color scheme is the same but the overall appearance has changed — it's basically identical in design to the pink Angelo custom unit. In other words, it's got Angelo's design but in the green color of the standard type. On top of that, a new backpack has been added.

Unlike the standard unit, the Guards Type/Angelo unit features different markings on the body and legs, which means you'll need to apply a hefty amount of white stickers to match. On top of that, both shoulders have been swapped out for spike armor. In short, it's essentially a color variant of Angelo's unit, but the newly designed backpack at least gives it a bit of its own identity. ^^;

The Geara Zulu kit itself is so clean and solid that this one delivers the same great build experience — excellent detail, decent joint strength, and standard articulation. The Guards Type shield still doesn't lock onto the arm very securely, and I do wish the joints were a bit tighter, but there's really nothing major to complain about.

It doesn't feel particularly special as a variation, but I think it's a fun build in the sense that it completes the Geara Zulu trio lineup. :-)
