Nobell Gundam [Berserker Mode]

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining

The Nobell Gundam [Berserker Mode] has been released as a variation of the HGFC Nobel Gundam. The base body is the same as the Nobel Gundam, but the molded colors have been changed overall to a pink palette, and parts like the hair and the verniers on the back have been redesigned.

First off, the coloring has been completely brightened up, so the visual impact from the color change alone is huge. On top of that, the hair that used to droop downward now spreads out horizontally, giving it a more dynamic look — however, those horizontal hair pieces are mostly fixed vertically to the back of the head, with only the two small strands on either side able to move slightly. This shifts the overall center of gravity of both the head and the whole body toward the back, so you'll need to balance it carefully when posing it in a standing position. The neck joint also struggles a bit to fully support the large, wide back hair, so if you leave it alone, the head will gradually tilt upward toward the sky — that's a bit of a downside.

This kit uses only ABS joints with no polycaps, but since the kit itself is so small and light, joint strength isn't really an issue except at the neck. Articulation is pretty good too, letting you pull off all sorts of cute and dynamic poses — though the ankles still have a tendency to pop off, which is a bit of a shame.

If you're into cute feminine mecha, this is definitely a kit worth recommending, and the colors came out so well that it's the kind of kit anyone can find adorable regardless of age or gender. That said, the bulky back hair does make the normal Nobel Gundam feel a bit more stable and clean-looking overall — can't really help that ^^; Either way, this even-more-feminine pink Nobell Gundam [Berserker Mode] is a unique enough kit in its own right. :-)
