Kit Review
Straight build + Stickers + Panel lining
With so much stuff hanging off it, this is one bigger, more complex, and more impressive-looking Waverider.

As a continuation of the Delta Plus / Delta Gundam line, the HGUC Gundam Delta Kai has been released. As you can see, it's a color variant with an enhanced armament configuration done up in a white and blue combo that gives it a bright, fresh feel — though at its core, it shares the same body as the Delta Plus.
It's a bit much to call it just a color variant, since quite a lot has been changed — roughly 40% of the parts are new, and the large shield, proto fin funnels, and side skirts do give it a fairly fresh feel. The main body is nearly identical to the Delta Plus, so the overall articulation, joint strength, and transformation process are all the same — though the wings and shield are bigger now, so they do tend to pop off more easily during posing or transformation.
The transformation process into Waverider mode isn't particularly different, but thanks to the upgraded armaments — the large shield, proto fin funnels, and elaborate side skirts — it becomes an incredibly large and striking Waverider. Delta-line Waveriders are already pretty cool to begin with, but the Delta Kai's Waverider might just be the most impressive-looking of the bunch. ^^
Anyway, it may be a variation kit, but it's got a flashy, impressive look that gives it pretty strong appeal as a product. The transformation result in particular looks fantastic, and it has a solid presence even just standing there on display. There are quite a lot of seals to apply, which can be a bit of a chore, but the straight build looks clean too. All in all, if you're a fan of Zeta/Delta-line transforming mecha, this seems like a stylish kit that'll more than satisfy. :-)
