Full Armor Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode]

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers + Panel lining

The HGUC Full Armor Unicorn Gundam has been released in Destroy Mode as well. It came out about a year after the Unicorn Mode release, and at its core it's essentially a variation that combines existing kits.

First off, as befitting the Full Armor version, the psycho-frame has been changed to clear green, and an extension part has been added to the middle of the bazooka to make it a bit longer. Beyond that, there's nothing particularly new to note about the main body itself — but a bonus extra Destroy Mode shield has been added, along with three brand-new display stands, which opens up a nice variety of shield arrangement options.

So there's nothing drastically new here, but thanks to the generous weapons loadout and sheer volume, the visual impact once it's all built up is absolutely top-tier. The previously released Unicorn Mode always felt a little plain on its own, but pairing the fully opened psycho-frame body with all the Full Armor weaponry is really what makes it look properly awesome. The MG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam involved a massive amount of assembly and decal work, but the HGUC Full Armor is much more manageable to build, which is a big plus.^^

That said — just like the MG Full Armor — there's so much stuff included by design that it runs ¥3,200 even for an HGUC. To match that, the box is MG-sized, and the runners and assembly volume are MG-level too. So yes, it's pricey for an HG, but once you see what's inside, the price is pretty easy to justify.

Anyway, if the HGUC Full Armor Unicorn Gundam in Unicorn Mode left you a little disappointed, or you're after the most visually impressive display possible, or the MG Full Armor feels like too much to take on — this looks like a fantastic and stunning kit that'll leave you very satisfied :-)
