Rozen Zulu [Episode 7 Ver.]

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers + Panel lining

The Rozen Zulu [Episode 7 Ver.] has been released as a variation of the HGUC Rozen Zulu. The basic kit composition uses all the runners and parts from the original Rozen Zulu as its base, with a changed molded color and newly added right arm parts.

First off, the updated molded color looks brighter and more vibrant than before as you can see in the review photos, giving it a prettier overall color scheme. The revised right arm appears to have a smaller shield mounted in place of the claw, and the right hand(?) unit — referred to as a wire-guided shield unit — comes equipped with a field generator and three mega particle cannons.

Every other structural feature is identical to the standard Rozen Zulu, so it shows pretty decent articulation for its looks — though the somewhat weak joint strength in the leg area is still a bit of a letdown. On top of the assembly time, applying all the stickers takes quite a while too. And since the leftover parts include the original Rozen Zulu's right arm, you can build it as a normal Rozen Zulu if you prefer. (The stickers for the standard Rozen Zulu are also included as-is.)

Honestly, for a variation at this level, it wouldn't be strange at all if it had just come out as a Club G exclusive... It's a bit confusing trying to figure out which ones get a general release and which ones go the Club G route. It probably comes down to sales projections, but either way, the design is so flashy that the visual satisfaction is definitely there. ^^

Personally, I find myself more drawn to the improved molded color than the new arm — and since you can build both right arm versions, this is essentially the definitive Rozen Zulu. If you haven't built a Rozen Zulu yet, I'd recommend going with this Episode 7 Ver. over the standard release for that more vibrant color scheme. (If you already picked up the standard version though... this one might sting a little. ;;)
