V-Dash Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining

Following the HGUC V Gundam and V2 Gundam, the V-Dash Gundam has now been released too. The body is 100% identical to the existing HGUC V Gundam, making this a variation kit that adds the Dash Booster and Beam Smart Gun. To match the new Dash Booster, the Core Fighter is included in Core Booster form.

The added Dash Booster has somewhat lacking color separation on the red sections, which makes it feel a little half-baked, though the detail level is still decent enough. That said, the Core Booster — which is the Dash Booster in its transformed form — comes out entirely in white with no color separation at all, giving it a rather bare look. It would've been nice if they'd put just a little more effort into the color separation there — a bit of a shame.

The newly added Beam Smart Gun lets you freely fix the handles on either side in 6 different positions, and by splitting and reassembling it, you can also recreate the folded form. You can even fold the Beam Smart Gun and attach it to the underside of the Core Booster — though since it uses the stand mounting hole to do so, you won't be able to put it on a stand in that configuration. On top of that, the hexa-type head included in the MG V Gundam Ver.Ka is also provided here, making this quite an accessory-rich kit overall.

Either way, thanks to the flexible yet sturdy joints and the cleanly color-separated body, this kit still delivers that satisfying high-quality build feel. The color separation on the Dash Booster is a little disappointing, but for V Gundam fans, this should be a pretty exciting kit. :-)
