Infinite Justice Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers + Panel lining

This is the Infinite Justice Gundam released as part of the HGCE lineup. The original HG came out back in 2005, so this is an upgrade a whopping 15 years in the making. In 2019, the HG Gundam Justice Knight was released as part of the Build Divers Re:Rise series, and it actually already included runners labeled as Infinite Justice Gundam. So in the end, the spin-off kit came out first, and the original followed later.

The biggest feature is the polycap-free joint structure, just like the HGBD:R Gundam Justice Knight. Joint strength is very solid, but the movement does feel stiffer compared to polycap-based joints. The hip joints also use the same special mechanism as the Justice Knight, where they can splay outward to the sides, and there's also a gimmick where the side skirts shift rearward so they don't get in the way of leg movement.

On top of that, you get a nice variety of beam parts and accessories unique to the Infinite Justice. Beam effect parts can be attached to the legs, wings, and shield, and you can use the wire part to launch the anchor claw from inside the shield. The beam saber mounting method — which had been a recurring issue with Justice-type kits — is handled in a rather unexpected way here. The side skirt parts have to be disassembled to lock the beam sabers in from the inside, which means once assembled, the beam sabers will never fall out. That completely solves the retention problem, though it does make swapping them in and out a bit of a chore.

The Fatum-01, the large flight backpack, faithfully recreates the deployment function, detachable beam effects, and poseable handles. The foldable wings can also move up and down to some degree even when fully extended. Especially worthy of praise — as you'd expect from an HGCE kit — is how cleanly the wing's color combination is handled through color separation.

Aside from the somewhat stiff joint feel, this is a clean, well-made kit with very little to complain about. If you've been waiting for an Infinite Justice with modern build quality, this should definitely hit the spot. :-)
