Straight build + Panel lining
Straight build + Panel lining
The Cima Custom Gelgoog Marine, a variation of the HGUC Gelgoog Marine, has been released. True to its role as the personal unit of Cima — the charismatic villainess and major antagonist of 0083 — the color scheme is a bit garish and the details are more complex.
Compared to the standard Gelgoog Marine, the head, most of the center torso, backpack, and rear shin sections are all new designs. The most eye-catching addition is probably Cima's shield and the large beam rifle. Since the basic characteristics of the unit are the same as the grunt type, the articulation is... well, don't expect too much, given the skirt restrictions and structural issues.
The molded colors are a yellowish hue and a murky hot pink — and as you can see in the photos, the color scheme is just so-so (-.,-). It's got a distinctly cheap toy vibe to it. Just like the grunt-type Gelgoog Marine, this is one of those HGUC kits where the molded colors aren't great. Without at least some panel lining, it looks like one of those candy toy freebies (you know, the little toys packed in with snacks)...
Aside from the molded colors, the overall look is decent enough that a good paint job could make it a really sharp-looking kit. And if you're a Cima fan, it's quite an interesting item. For straight-build fans though, it's not something I'd really recommend. ^^;
