GM Command Space

Kit Review

Following the GM Command Colony Type, it was only natural that the Space Type would be released as well. In terms of lore, the Space Type only differs from the Colony Type in its backpack and weapons — the body is 100% the same, making it a molded color variation kit. So the articulation, overall look, and structure of the body are identical twins with the Colony Type.

First off, the molded colors on the GM Command Space Type are something else.. The white parts are incredibly pearlescent. It's the most lustrous white I've ever seen on any Gunpla — it's almost blinding. In photos it'll just look bright and white, but trust me, in person this white is the absolute pinnacle of pearlescence. I've never seen a white molded color this shimmery before. It's truly the embodiment of pure white. Combined with the red, it shows off a really vibrant and gorgeous color scheme.

One minor gripe is that the energy pack section of the beam gun — a weapon exclusive to the Space Type — isn't separated into parts to match the design colors, and there's no sticker for it either, so it ends up in a dull, flat color. It's supposed to look cute with that white and red pattern. So I just did a quick partial paint job on that section.

Just like the GM Command Colony Type before it, the Space Type is a clean kit with excellent detail, appropriately stiff joints, and solid articulation. As with all the HGUC GM series kits, the quality-to-price ratio is outstanding. And the Space Type's exclusive backpack — a rare sight — gives it just an eeever so slightly more unique feel compared to the Colony Type's backpack.

Either way, the value for money and overall satisfaction are top-notch — it's the HGUC GM series after all, so I'd recommend it without hesitation~!!
Especially recommended for anyone who's into beautiful, pearlescent molded colors. ^^
