Kit Review
Straight build + Panel lining
The body structure is a bit odd... especially the waist, which is held together by a single spine — pretty unique, isn't it~ ^^;
The power lines on the back of the legs are all separate green molded parts.
The booster covers on either side of the legs are hinged — in MS mode, they're meant to be left open.
A unique weapon mounted on the arm... when you open up what's normally stored away like that,
you can hold it in hand like a pair of pistols, as shown in the photo on the right.
The articulation is... how do I put it... since it's a transforming kit, the range of motion is decent enough,
but actually getting it into a good pose is another story ^^; Seems like the uniquely structured design itself is the problem...
But... the shoulder area is a bit off; it feels like it's locked down more than it needs to be?
With the arm in its normal position, it just won't raise up at all.
You can remove the cover on the crotch area...
and that's so you can plug it into the multi-function stand included with the Asshimar/Gabthley.
The previous kit, Paras Athene, also had a stand mount point even without a stand included,
and seeing the Methuss do the same thing, it looks like they plan to keep this cross-compatibility feature going forward...
You swap in a replacement part at the center of the body...
then bring over the Hyper Mega Launcher + Hyaku-Shiki and connect them together.
Zooming in on the connection point, it looks like the photo on the left.
You can lock it in place as if gripping it tightly with both hands so it doesn't slip.
The feeling of having your energy drained away so pitifully (yang or yin, take your pick)...;;
Transformation
First, fold the rear nose section forward, and bring the crotch area up to the front.
Remove the arms and viewed from the side, it looks roughly like the photo on the right.
Left as-is, it ends up looking just like a Valkyrie GERWALK...
and this is actually the intermediate transformation form used when moving inside a ship.
In plain MS mode, the rear nose sticks up way too high and would catch on everything,
so inside a warship it has no choice but to humbly bow its head like that... ;;;
Next, swing the legs and lower body sharply 90 degrees backward to straighten out the body.
The arms get repositioned into a slightly OTL-esque angle... and the hands have to be removed.
Personally I'm not a big fan of detach-to-transform, but well, the scale is what it is...
At this point, you attach the two pipes that run through the body and the two small pipes on the back of the neck.
Seems like it's meant to lock the body in place, but it doesn't hold all that well ^^;
Pull both legs out to the sides in two stages as shown in the photo on the left.
Fold the thighs in and tuck them into the legs, while lifting the rear leg verniers upward.
Align the tips of the arms and legs, then plug the vernier assembly from the rear legs into the back of the shoulders.
The transformation is a bit loose overall, but thankfully the connection between the leg verniers and shoulders is solid enough
that the whole shape doesn't fall apart easily.
Three nicely detailed landing gear pieces are included.
Remove the three covers on the underside to attach the landing gear.
The photo on the right shows the underside with the landing gear attached.
MA mode
Together with Zeta and Mk-II. The Methuss still holds its own size-wise. Together with the HGUC Zeta's Waverider.
