Kit Review
Straight build + Panel lining
Upper body front shot. Looks really nice and glossy.
Check out the clean yellow color separation on the ducts and the camera eye done in green clear parts.
The V-shape on the crotch is handled with a sticker, but it doesn't stick very well.. ;;
That's one big backpack. Looks pretty tough, doesn't it? Maybe that's why it's the Powered 'GM'..;
The area marked with the yellow arrow should be orange on the main body, but the molded color came out different.
The parts are actually split in a way that would allow proper color separation, so it's a bit puzzling why they didn't match it up right..
The knee armor is neatly split into four sections in four directions so seam lines don't show — nice touch.
Remove the knee armor and you'll find some piston-style inner frame molding underneath.
Are they starting to work inner frames into HGUC kits now?
The front skirt is a single part, but with just a simple cut
it's structured so that each section can move independently.
Great articulation. The arms fold completely, but the legs don't quite fold all the way because the calves get in the way..
The highlight of this kit. The action-style left hand that can bend 180 degrees forward and back.
This lets you hold weapons in a much more natural pose.
The wrist-bent pose somehow syncs perfectly with the line above..
At some point HGUC kits started getting double-jointed elbows for full arm fold.
The shoulders don't raise upward, only swing forward a little. Just a slight disappointment there.
The ankle's rear section is split and folds up, so the foot itself bends forward quite a bit.
For a unit with such thick ankle guards, it bends pretty well.
Bazooka action. The angle for gripping the bazooka isn't great though,
when you put the bazooka in its hand, the front and rear hand parts tend to come apart frequently.
A natural draw pose. The beam saber can only be drawn from the left arm, though.
But since no left hand capable of holding a beam saber is included,
(just the open hand shown above) you can only hold it with the right hand in the end.
Beam saber action. The beam part is rendered nicely in soft vinyl.
Older HGUC beam sabers were often just plain plastic, basically telling you to paint it yourself,
but these days they generally split it out as a soft vinyl part.
This one also has a hole in its backside. For a stand, of course.
The kit doesn't include a stand, but you can borrow the one from the Gabthley/Asshimar
and use it with this kit.
