The variation everyone saw coming — Blue Destiny Unit 3 has been released as an HGUC. It was always a kit that lent itself well to reuse, so it ended up launching alongside the Ground Type Gundam as a batch release. The reuse rush probably won't be over until the Ez-8 and Ground Type GM show up too.

Blue Destiny Unit 3's coloring is almost identical to the Ground Type Gundam, and the body construction itself is nearly the same as Unit 2 — it's essentially just a different molded color version. The biggest difference is the shield, which has a style similar to the Mk-II. That said, it's a bit more refined and detailed than the Mk-II shield. Honestly, with Unit 3, the shield is pretty much the only thing that catches your eye. ^^;

The kit itself shares nearly all the same characteristics as Unit 2 — excellent articulation and decent joint strength, making it a top-tier HGUC. Though there's no denying it doesn't offer much in the way of novelty. Either way, its biggest significance is completing the Blue Destiny lineup, and it feels like a breather item from the Bandai dev team while they're going all-in on their other stuff. That said, having Units 1, 2, and 3 lined up together with their noticeably different color schemes does look pretty nice.

If you really think about it, you could argue that the unique shield alone makes it worth it.. Either way, this is one kit you can build without worrying about quality. :-)
