Fullarmor Gundam 7th

Kit Review

Straight build
+ panel lining

The Fullarmor Gundam 7th, which appears in the PS3 game Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record, has been released as an HGUC kit. It seems like the lineups for the main units are getting wrapped up one by one, so kits based on units from games are becoming more and more common.

Since it's a game character, it feels a bit awkward to pass too much judgment on the design.. but it definitely doesn't look like something you'd see in an anime. It's very much an MSV-style design, and personally I'd say it's a little rough around the edges, but still decent enough to look at.

Thanks to the newly adopted polycaps, overall joint strength is very solid, and the articulation is decent enough that you can pull off some pretty nice poses with an Action Base. It's got a complex look with lots of stuff hanging off it, so the display value is quite impressive too. The color separation is good enough to pass at the 1/144 scale. The one slightly annoying thing is that panel lining this thing takes almost as much work as an MG, given how complex the design is — but hey, that's totally up to the builder..

Overall it's a clean, good-quality kit, but flip that around and it's also a kit without any standout features. If you like the design, it's a cute little kit you can pick up without any hesitation. :-)
