The HGUC RX-78 was released as a 2005 Osaka Suntory Museum exclusive. Just like the previous clear versions, it's a version where the runners from the existing kit are molded in transparent parts matching each color.
The HGUC RX-78 is a clean kit to begin with, so this Clear Version RX-78 gives off a nice, tidy feel as well. The polycaps aren't made transparent though, so they do show up quite dark here and there on the body — but it's not really a bad look overall. ^^
The feel of the clear parts isn't all that different from other clear kits, and the dark gray parts are also done in a semi-transparent finish. As is typical with clear versions, the transparency can make it look a little faint in photos — but in person it really sparkles and has a strong presence.
Rather than having any special significance, I think the appeal here is simply that the HGUC First Gundam has been born as a lovely clear kit. ^^
