There were 4 kits total in the Extra Finish version commemorative set from the 2000 Rajikon Show, and this Gouf is the last of them. The two-tone metallic blue coating is quite clean, and despite the small size, it gives off a pretty striking look.
The surface coating quality is excellent. For the torso, the plastic itself was molded in that distinctive black color (commonly used for plated parts), so gate marks are barely visible. The outer armor pieces are also done in a way that hides gate marks well, which makes the finished look even better. That said, seam lines are a bit noticeable due to the parts breakdown structure..;
The HGUC Gouf itself has decent proportions and is solid overall, but being an early HGUC kit, the articulation isn't great — there aren't that many poses you can pull off. The stiffness typical of plated parts does help hold poses in place, but the limited range of movement is a bit of a letdown.
Anyway, at ¥1300 it's about as cheap as plated kits get, so it's an easy one to enjoy without breaking the bank — but being a commemorative release, tracking one down is the biggest challenge. ^^;
These 3 plated Qubeley kits released as commemoratives for the 2000 Rajikon Show hold a special place as the very first Extra Finish versions ever. They're becoming rare items these days, but all things considered, I think they were great kits that let you build a premium-looking painted kit at a relatively affordable price. :-)
