Zeta Gundam ~ Extra Finish Version

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the Marasai and Hyper, the main protagonist Zeta Gundam has now been released in the HGUC Extra Finish series. The overall plated finish looks great, and compared to the Hyper in particular, the gate marks are much less noticeable — which is a big plus. That's simply because the parts separation was well thought out from the start. The basic structure, characteristics, and transformation process are of course identical to the normal version, so for a more detailed kit review, please refer to the HGUC Zeta Gundam Review.

Thanks to the stiffness that's typical of Extra Finish/plated versions, the kit itself feels a bit more solid, and the stability after transformation has improved as well. The normal version wasn't exactly loose, but after transforming it multiple times, the legs and waist started to feel a little wobbly.

The combination of a very uniform and consistent plated finish with the kit's overall clean quality means there really aren't any particular flaws worth nitpicking. The price of ¥3200 is a bit on the high side for an HGUC, but if you're a Zeta Gundam fan, the quality won't disappoint. :-)
