The shoulders and side legs have power cables made of soft parts..
The ends don't hold in place well and pop out easily during posing, which is incredibly annoying.. T_T

As the 6th kit in the Gundam The Origin HG series, the Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Late Type [Mash]has been released. The official name is quite a mouthful, so it's a bit tricky figuring out what to call it for short — probably easiest to just call it the Mobile Worker.
In terms of lore, the Mobile Worker started out as a concept for a work robot predating MS development, and it feels more like a Labor from Patlabor than something from the Gundam universe. The design concept is quite different from your typical Gunpla, which also means it has a really unique feel to it.
First off, the joint structure is quite different from regular MS kits — it has a gorilla-like proportion with long arms and short legs, so the way it moves feels pretty different too. The range of motion and joint stability are decent enough to pull off some dynamic poses, with the main pose being that forward claw attack stance. A shield is included as well, but there aren't really any other weapons, so there's a limit to how many interesting poses you can do...
One interesting gimmick is the ability to swap out the forearms by opening the three fixing pins on each arm — though no separate forearm modules are included, so at best you can just swap the two arms with each other. But since no right-hand parts are provided at all, the result looks a bit awkward after swapping, so it's not a particularly useful gimmick.. It's probably best to just appreciate it as a lore-accurate feature.
The biggest downside of this kit is the power pipes, which are made of soft material. They're designed to be secured by plugging small protruding pin-like ends into holes, but they pop out way too easily during posing. T_T Even gluing them doesn't work well since they're soft parts, and they keep falling out every time you change a pose — honestly, my frustration level went through the roof for the first time in a while.. -_-
On top of that, the orange molded color has a real candy-toy feel to it — it's a surprisingly poor color for Bandai Gunpla. This can't be their first time working with this kind of plastic, so it's baffling why they'd use such cheap-looking material. Even recent Kotobukiya kits don't show this level of molded color quality, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed.
Overall, it's a kit that feels fresh in terms of style but leaves something to be desired in terms of quality. It feels more like a slightly smoother Kotobukiya kit than typical Bandai Gunpla — there's just something a bit off about the quality. In particular, I think a lot of people are going to lose their minds over those ridiculously loose soft power cables. T_T
That said, it's a Gunpla that stands out with its unique style, and it's worth building at least once even with its few shortcomings. If you've been getting tired of assembling the same old Gunpla, this might be just the thing to shake things up. :-)
