This kit is the HG Zaku II Type C/C-5, the 16th release in the Gundam Origin series. It's based on the existing Origin Zaku with mass-production colors and some new parts added. By swapping out the chest and left forearm sections, you can build it as either the Type C or Type C-5. Two backpack types are also included, though there's no official distinction between which goes with which variant — you just pick the one you like.

The Type C doesn't look all that different from the existing Zaku — it's basically just a green mass-production Zaku feel. The Type C-5, on the other hand, has a completely redesigned chest and a chunky new forearm armor on the left arm that you've never seen before, giving it a noticeably different look. On top of that, a brand-new Zaku machine gun with a drum magazine mounted under the backpack and connected via a belt-feed system has been added, which makes for a pretty fresh visual.

That said, swapping parts does require disassembling the torso, which is a bit of a hassle. The backpack in particular shares a polycap for securing the verniers, so you have to take everything apart and reassemble it each time — kind of a pain. Since one of the two backpacks is the same as the existing one, I'd imagine most people will just go with the new backpack design.

The base articulation and joint strength are on par with the existing HG Origin Zaku, so the quality is top-tier for an HG. Along with the new machine gun, most of the weapons that came with previous Origin HG Zakus are included here too, so you've got plenty of options for action poses.

Either way, this kit is noteworthy as a fresh HG Zaku variation with a new design after quite a while. The base quality is solid enough that it's a great Zaku I'd recommend to any Gunpla fan. :-)
