The Act Zaku [Kycilia's Forces] has been released as the 20th kit in the HG Origin series. Some of the internal frame is reused from the existing HG Origin Zaku, but 70% of the parts — including all the external armor — are brand new. Thanks to that, it comes across as a fresh new Zaku with a look all its own.

The internal frame structure is similar to before, so it's still a clean-quality kit with solid articulation and joint strength. The one slightly disappointing point is that the separate shoulder armor structure from the HG Origin Zaku series has been omitted, which reduces the forward/backward range of motion in the shoulders. 

The Act Zaku comes with a stylish large heat hawk and a 4-barrel machine gun — both weapons I hadn't seen before, so they feel pretty fresh. The large heat hawk can be mounted on both side skirts using separate joint parts, and the fit is solid enough that it doesn't fall off easily once attached, which is a nice touch. As for the 4-barrel machine gun, you can grip it with both hands using the articulated secondary grip, and being a modern kit, it holds the two-handed pose without much trouble.

On top of that, there's a gimmick where the mono-eye rotates further in the direction the head is turned — a nice touch. However, because of this gimmick, the connection between the lower head and the neck is a bit loose, so the neck can pull out when rotating, which is something to watch out for.

This kit is significant simply for bringing a fresh Zaku design to the HG lineup with clean quality. It may not have the strongest lineage, but it's a fun build with a novel look — definitely a good kit worth picking up. :-)
