Gundam Gusion Rebake — the unit that Tekkadan rebuilt by overhauling Gundam Gusion — has been released as an HG kit. The look is drastically different from the chubby, all-defense Gundam Gusion, and you might wonder if the gap is just too wide, but either way it's a unit reassembled using the Gundam Barbatos frame.
This kit uses a shared frame runner under the new name "Gundam Frame 3." Just like frames 1 and 2, it honestly feels like the Gundam Barbatos frame parts have just been rearranged rather than being a newly shaped frame. If that's all they're doing, it's a bit puzzling why they keep putting out runners with new shared frame names instead of just reusing the same frame runner as-is. I suppose that'll only become clear as more IBO HG kits get released. ^^;
Since it's fundamentally based on the Barbatos frame, the build feel and joint/articulation characteristics are very similar to the HG Barbatos. That said, the large backpack, rear skirt, bigger rifle, and some of the armor pieces do make the joints feel a little less sturdy. It's not so much that they're loose — it's more that getting a clean, precise pose is tricky. Ironically, it's actually easier to throw it into an action pose than to stand it up neatly. ^^;
As for special gimmicks, sub-arms are built into the large, round backpack, and pulling them out gives you a four-armed configuration. You also get a long-barreled Long Range Rifle along with a separate aiming mode head that swaps with the standard one. And the big, beefy shield — which almost feels like a leftover trace of Gundam Gusion — can be mounted on the rear skirt like a butt-pack or attached to the arm.
In the end, true to the frame-based HG series, this is a kit that builds up with a feel very similar to the HG Barbatos since they share the same frame. But the exterior design is completely different, and the special gimmicks — the sub-arms, aiming mode head, and oversized shield — give it a distinctly unique flavor. Either way, it definitely looks a lot more like a proper Gundam than Gundam Gusion ever did. :-)
