The Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City, successor to the Gusion Rebake, has been released as an HG kit. Like Barbatos Lupus, it's an upgraded version of the original unit — same design concept, but everything except the frame is all-new design.
The frame uses the same Gundam Frame Runner #3 as the original Gusion Rebake, so the base body carries over the same excellent articulation and solid joint strength. That said, the Full City version comes with a much larger rear skirt, which shifts the center of gravity noticeably toward the back — so when standing upright, you'll need to angle the legs back a bit in that "belly-out" stance. Because of this, the original Gusion Rebake actually feels more balanced proportionally.
The sub-arm deploying from inside the backpack is reproduced just like on the Gusion Rebake, and you can also detach the rear skirt and transform it into either a shield or a giant scissor weapon. The scissor weapon (written as "scissors," read as "nippers") in particular has a unique personality you don't often see in other kits, and an extra hand with a bent wrist is included specifically for gripping it. Two head options are also provided — standard and targeting — which can be swapped out as you like, and knuckle guard parts are stored inside the forearm armor to be fitted onto the back of the hand.
One thing that's a bit disappointing about this kit is that the seals feel a little overdone — there are quite a few to stick onto the small face, and some larger areas that don't look particularly hard to color-separate are handled with seals instead, which creates an odd, mismatched look here and there. The parts breakdown feels a bit half-hearted, honestly... makes you wonder if they're only putting the full effort into the main protagonist units.
That said, as a refreshed take on the original Gusion Rebake, the quality is above average, so if you like the design, it's an easy enough recommendation. :-)
