Astaroth Rinascimento, the custom unit based on the Gundam Astaroth, has been released as an HG kit. As you'd expect, it's a variation kit built on the existing HG Gundam Astaroth as its base, with some runners from the Astaroth Origin added in as well — so there's actually only one brand-new runner made specifically for this kit.
The overall look is similar to the Astaroth, but quite a few things have been subtly changed — especially on the weapons side, which got a lot more loaded up. A new weapon called the Bastard Chopper has been added, a deployable shield arm has been added to the right shoulder, and the left sub-knuckle has been redesigned into a larger shape. On top of that, the short knives that were also included with the Astaroth can now be stored on the left skirt, and the Astaroth rifle can be stored on the right skirt.
All these extra weapons give it a beefier, more powerful look, and the variety of armaments definitely makes action poses feel more spectacular. That said, the joint strength that wasn't much of an issue on the original Astaroth feels like it's been pushed past its limit here. The shoulder joints in particular are way too loose for the weight of the weapons, making it incredibly hard to hold any decent pose — and the overall joint strength balance across the arms and legs feels off too, so it can turn into a floppy mess in no time.
So while the base build quality is clean and the weapons loadout is generous, the joint strength just isn't up to the task of handling the increased bulk and weaponry — which can get really frustrating when you're trying to pose it. If you keep that in mind and either reinforce the joints beforehand or handle it carefully, it does seem like a kit that can be a pretty fun build visually. :-)
