Following Gundam Marchosias from Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr-Hunt, Gundam Hajiroboshi has also been released as an HG. If anything, you'd think Hajiroboshi — being the main protagonist's unit — should have come out first, so the release order does feel a bit backwards.
As you can see in the comparison photos above, it shares a similar color palette and design concept with Marchosias, but the actual details are completely different. Aside from reusing one frame runner from HG Barbatos, all the exterior parts are newly sculpted, and the solid color separation makes for a great-looking straight build right out of the box.
The articulation follows the same characteristics as the existing Barbatos frame, and it still uses polycap-free joints. Joint strength isn't bad, but the joints feel a bit stiffer compared to polycap ones. In my experience, repeated posing tends to loosen them up over time. Articulation itself is decent enough, but the short limbs make poses feel a little cramped.
Weapons include the 100mm Short Range Rifle, Smart Mace, and Crab Shield — and the Crab Shield even has a deployment gimmick. All the weapons can be securely stored on the side skirts. There are no extra accessories like additional hands, and one neat thing to note is that once you've got everything equipped, there are absolutely zero leftover parts.
All in all, it's a solid kit with decent overall quality, and if you've been waiting for a Gundam Hajiroboshi kit, this should be a fun one to build. :-)
